Settling In

All
VIP Childcare Practitioners are aware that when a young child arrives for the first time, it can be a little unsettling for both the child and their parent/carer.

We encourage parents/carers to bring in any "comforters" or "soothers" from home, to ease the transition into the setting as smoothly as possible.

There are routines set in place to make this process as relaxed as possible, with a varied selection of activities which are age and stage appropriate to every child. Staff will give the child individual attention, reassurance and comfort until they feel confident enough to explore their new environment independently. Each child will be assigned a Key Worker to monitor the child's development.

Information for Parents

We ask that you bring clothing and footwear which is weather appropriate for your child and that everything is labelled with your child's name on it.

We ask that you supply enough nappies (where appropriate), wipes, and any cream for your child to last each session.

You will be asked to sign in and out of every session and an allocated person must collect the child. Should the allocated person change it is imperative that you contact us to keep us informed. Children will only be released to their allocated person.

If your child is ill, we ask that you do not bring them to the session. However, if your child falls ill whilst here, we will contact you immediately. It is important that you keep us informed of any change in contact details.
