We have a selection of ′touchy/feely′ books and toys, as well as sound boxes, musical instruments and visual material. This will encourage children (through discovery) to learn about the world around us. |

This will encourage fine motor skills and hand/eye co-ordination. It can include painting, ′junk modelling′ and drawing. It will motivate children into using language and speech about their projects and encourage social interaction with other children and staff. |

| PHYSICAL PLAY
This is an essential part of a child′s on-going development. Establishing good exercise habits will set the foundation for continued learning and enjoyment of physical activities throughout their life. VIP Childcare puts into practice a ′Top Tots′ physical play programme, to enable all children the opportunity to participate in fun, constructive physical games. Each activity will coincide with each child′s age and stage of development, beginning from birth. |

| IMAGINATIVE PLAY
This will allow the children to use their imagination through play. It may include dressing up and ′pretend play′. This encourages children′s social skills whereby they can make new friends and it encourages their language abilities. We will regularly change the ′house corner′ in accordance to different themes – making it into a doctors or dentists, depending on the theme at the time. |

| MUSIC THERAPY
This gives all of the children the opportunity to experience and enjoy music from all around the world, while encouraging communication through participation. Babies as young as three months will respond actively to music. As they grow and develop, they will be able to recognise the differences between loud/quiet and slow/fast music. They will also be able to join in with basic repetitive words, develop co-ordination needed to play simple instruments, clap and socially interact with other children. |
